Hi, Al - thanks for checking in - I've been clearing debris from the big storm - Ike's spinoff. An event of a lifetime. HOURS of big winds and ripping tree limbs.......
No broken windows or roof damage here. Amazing!
This is a double lot, with several 150-yr-old silver maples, so you can imagine. I've been sawing up firewood with my little bow-saw. No chainsaws for me! Since we had a power outage and had to conserve water, too, I was chopping-wood/carrying-water for several days there. Plus, schlepping my dominoes over to the neighbors' for candlelight Mexican Train dominoes tournaments. We know how to live it up here (c:*
That's the long answer to why I haven't published articles this past week.

Hey Al thanks for your comments. I think I will see dad again too and have in a dream that seemed more than a dream. John Burke was rather an amazing fellow and I might add in what I know of his death now because he actually threw himself over my dad's semi conscious body to hide the fact dad was alive knowing he would take a bayonet.. I believe John was wounded and thought he might not make it and he wanted to help my dad make it...

I feel I have seen him before.. dead long before I was born he still seems very familiar. The great circle of life being eternity is absolutely true. A lovely thought too.

I really appreciate your comment on the article and the place the whole thing takes me.

You're from Cambridge? MIT? I was born in Cambridge, while my Dad was teaching at MIT / finishing his doctorate. T.A.Welton - there's a nice article by him from several years back, online - his memories of his time with Dick Feynman (they were great friends freshman year at MIT, and also worked on the same team at Los Alamos)
